Snow Cal

One of the best parts about living in So Cal is that it can be 90 degrees at the shop but you can drive a little more than an hour and be playing in the snow, and that's just what we did. The weekend before last we headed to Big Bear and stayed at our friends cabin in Fawnskin. Hehe... kinda sounds like, well you know.

And little Jimmy got his first snowboard lesson while we relaxed on the deck of the Lodge. We might have had a few beers.

BTW, Big Bear is getting fresh snow today. 

Good Weekend!

Saturday was a good day,  We were finally able to deliver the 31 Vicky to its owner Terry O Herren.  Matt and myself made a little road trip out of it.  It was exciting to drop this car off,  we have had so many issues with this car it was nice to finally deliver it.  Here are some pic's of it in it's new home and with the proud owner.

P.s.  On a sidenote I had to go to my favorite eye doctor (Dr. Yoon) to get metal dug out of my eye.  Always wear your safety glasses!!  Dr Yoon is the best!!

Shipwrecked

Brent Nightingale, long time friend of CCHR is building this '30 Ford Roadster at the shop right now.

He's always saying "Shipwrecked!" so Jimmy stuck him with that name. He owns a pretty slick '37 Ford PU. It's painted flat metallic gold and has a police siren. He does a pretty good "human siren" too.

LOWTECH

My friend Marc lives in Switzerland and when he was out her last year he took a bunch of pics of the '33 Roadster for his blog, LOWTECH and did a little shout out to CCHR. Check it out HERE. His blog is definitely worth watching too. I've added a permanent link on the side bar...Thanks Marc.

I'm a FreeBorn Man

The very first Born Free show took place in the parking lot of the old CCHR shop. It was hands down the best bike show I'd ever been to until Born Free 2 in Long Beach.

Born Free 3 is just a few months away and I've got a feeling this one will be the Mother of all bike shows. As always it'll cost you, zip, zero, nada. You're probably asking yourself "How the hell do they do it?". I have no clue but when the posters & raffle tickets went on sale at Chopperfest 2010, I was the first to buy one. I picked lucky 13.

For a mere $25 not only do you get a bitchin poster and feel good about supporting the best bike show west of the Mississippi but you also have a fighting chance of wining a Garage Company built Knucklehead... Yowza!!!

For me the Born Free show is about hitting the road and living Free. Jimmy Martin sums it all up with this song. I could swear he's saying "My home is on my Bike"

Rebuilding Memories

This is an awesome video about a young couple and their Motorcycle which takes them on a journey through the years. It's pretty cool how our passion for cars and motorcycles brings us together and builds memories that last even after we're gone.

Bring a Trailer

I don't normally endorse Trailer Queens but Bring a Trailer is definitely an exception. It's a website that features rare and unique classic cars for sale. They have thousands of users scouring ebay, craigslist and even some exclusives to BAT that you won't find anywhere else. If you sign up they'll send you an email a day with the latest finds. This '32 Roadster popped up a while back. It was built in the 50's and was displayed in the Oakland Roadster Show from 1958 to 1963. Some guy in Bakersfield had if for sale for $35K. Although I'm not really looking to buy anything right now it's still fun seeing what's out there and what it's going for. They mix it up with motorcycles, Euro stuff and even some odd ball stuff like this trailer.
